Hansel und Gretel, the fairy-tale opera by Engelbert Humperdinck, is brought to joyous life by the critically acclaimed musicians of the Philadelphia Sinfonia, led by conductor and music director Gary D. White. Performing an abridged concert version created especially for this concert, the orchestra is joined by narrator Kile Smith, host of WRTI's celebrated radio program "Now is the Time" and noted Philadelphia composer, the Philadelphia Boys Choir, and spectacular soloists from the Academy of Vocal Arts.

Philadelphia Sinfonia is a premiere youth orchestra recognized nationwide for its musical excellence, innovative curriculum and commitment to generous engagement in the musical, civic and global communities.
